Heat and Stick Love

I forgot how cute the Filled with Love set was until I pulled it out recently.  I ordered it months ago from the Holiday Mini catalog, but with all the other holidays for Fall and Winter it sat in the back of the basket and I forgot about it.
I was playing with the Heat and Stick powder again.  This time I used Real Red Craft ink on the hearts, then some Heat and Stick powder before using my Heat Tool.  It melts the powder so it is sticky, add some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter and voila!  Sparkling hearts!  It sparkles more than you can see in the photo.
Here is the card with Classic Real Red ink instead of Craft ink.  Both cards were quick and easy, but this one did not require the Heat Tool, so it was even faster.  Plus I noticed the craft ink made it hard to see the polka dots in the little heart.  You can see it clearly on this card.  Either way it is a fun card.  I love my Big Shot too, so I used the Movers and Shapers heart die, which is a little bigger than the heart punch.  You can see the pretty heart whether the card is opened or closed!
Remember the Filled with Love stamp set is still available by itself through Jan. 3, after that you can only order it in the Bundle, you get FREE buttons in the bundle, available until Jan. 24!  Here is what you get when you order the Filled with Love Bundle...

Heat and Stick powder

Here is a card I did at a workshop and at a class a while back.  Guess I forgot to post it, sorry.  I love it because it is fun, glitters, and does not cost extra to mail!  I saw the idea on another demonstrators blog, sorry I cannot remember who.  But when you use Heat and Stick Powder with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter can give any project a sparkle!
This embossing folder is a little smaller on one side than the other.  This way you can fold the card over it and run it through the Big Shot.
I found that it was better to run in the same direction every time with this folder, otherwise it puckers the card stock sometimes.
Sandwich the card and embossing folder between the 2 cutting plates and use the platform when you run it all through the Big Shot.
Then use a sponge dauber with VersaMark, gently run it across the tops of the snowflakes.  This way it only sticks to the tops.  Cover with heat and stick powder (use it the same way you would use embossing powder), tap off excess and use the heat gun.  The powder will melt to make a sticky glue.  Cover with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter and tap off excess.  I used Silver ink for the greeting.

Gift Certificate/Money Holders

Here are some fun holders.  All you need is an 8-1/2" x 11" piece of paper and some scraps for the belly band belt.  This will hold a check, cash or a nice note with gift cards.
Directions for Santa Holder:

  • Score in 1-1/2" on each end of the long sides(11" sides) so you are scoring at 1-1/2" and at 9-1/2".
  • On the shorter sides score at 3-1/4" and 7-3/4".
  • I cut at an angle on the top two corners as you can see in the photos.
  • Fold in the sides that were scored in 1-1/2" and then fold the other way.
  • Once it is closed you can put the belly band around it to keep it in place.
  • Belly Band is 1-3/4" wide, scored approximately 3-1/2" and 7" (adjust to fit well around folded card).
  • White rectangle 2-1/2" x 2-1/8"  and Black rectangle 2-3/8" x 1-15/16".
  • Black circles were made with the 1" Circle punch.

More Christmas

Here are a few more Christmas ideas.  Maybe you do not have time to make them this year, but what about ordering your supplies and starting them in April?  These are some cards I send out last year.  I loved using the aqua painter with the cardinal.

The ornament card looks a little flat here, but the ornament is layered and should be folded up a little more to make it look more dimensional.  This ornament card was a big hit last year.  I made some for my mother-in-law too.  I love the plenty of petals impressions folder too.
This tin was so fun to make.  You cannot see the shimmer in the picture, but I used the paint mixed with alcohol and misted the paper before using the texture plate.  It gave a pretty shimmer to the whole front. It was filled with lots of tags to use on all your packages. Colors are Very Vanilla and Soft Suede, I used a texture plate with my Big Shot for the background.
This one is in Very Vanilla and Old Olive, with gold embossing powder.  I used some organdy ribbon for an extra touch.

Look Here pop up die

I needed some nice gifts for some of Ashley's teachers at school. This is one I made for her gym teacher. Who wouldn't like coffee and chocolate for a holiday treat? So I used my Look Hear Pop up die, my Big Shot and some stamps.

Here is the inside of the card.
We kept it simple since the gift card is so cute!

This sweet card is one Ashley made.  She was going to a birthday party last weekend and we needed a cute card to hold the gift card.   She did the front of the card and she and I did the inside of the card.  I thought she did a great job with it all.
If you have questions about how I made any of these cards please let me know.  Thanks for looking!
