Reason to Smile card

I did a "Private Card Class" on Saturday with some great ladies.  I had talked to my hostess about offering some cards, and the guests could either pay to make some cards, or they could make the cards for free if they placed an order.  We all had a great time making 3 different cards and the hostess ended up with lots of fun Stampin'Up! products for free!
You can see all 3 of the different cards we made HERE.
Contact me to schedule your own Private Class with friends.  Enjoy some crafting time together.  Your guests can choose from either paying a small fee to make some cards, or make the cards for free when they place an order.  As the hostess of the party, you can earn some great products!
This card featured the Reason to Smile stamp set, only available during July!  See the Reason to Smile stamp set HERE, July Promotions, there's still time to order by July 31, contact me or order online HERE.
I gave the girls some options with this card.  A number of the girls like to do photos on their cards, so I thought the Framelit was a great option to either fill with a stamped image, or use as a frame for a photo inside.
I love little touches, like the glitter I used on some of the cards.  A little Dazzling Diamonds Glitter looks great on the flowers, but it is hard to see in the photos.
This card had lots of stamping, while the one below it was a similar version.
Supplies:  Reason to Smile and Petite Pairs stamps, Marina Mist and Whisper White card stocks, Marina Mist and Lucky Limeade inks, Big Shot with Labels Collection Framelits, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Dimensionals.

Private Card Class

Here's some cards from a Private Card Class I did over the weekend.  The girls had a great time making 3 different cards, and the hostess enjoyed time with friends, plus got some orders so she could enjoy some free Stampin'Up! products.  Contact me to book your Private Class and spend some fun crafting time with friends.
Reason to Smile card (left) CLICK HERE to see supplies and more information.
Every Little Bit card (right), I will post the supplies later this week, so check back!

I had scheduled this class before going to the Stampin'up! Convention 2012.  While at convention I took a class "I am Doing Business My Way," with Bonnie Thurber, Tami White and Ronda Wade.  Ronda had some great tips for doing Private Classes, which happens to be what this was.  I was so thrilled and inspired by their tips and ideas.  I hope to offer more and more of this type of class.
I love being a Stampin'Up! Demonstrator for so many reasons.  I love sharing my love of stamping with you, I love all the wonderful friends I have made, and I love the discount!  But there is more than all that, there are also tons of resources for demonstrators, let me show you.  Have you ever thought about being a Demonstrator?  Stampin'Up! is offering a great special for August.  Contact me for more details and be sure to check back on August 1st!

Convention 2012 class

Convention 2012 was so fun, on my first day of classes I took a class with Emily Montoya, "I am Reaching Out".  The class was actually about reaching out to different age groups.  It reminded me a lot of one of my nieces, Shayla.  She and I repin each others things on Pinterest and have a lot of the same creative interests.  But because I do not see her very often, I think this class had some great points for reconnecting with her and others.
Shopping as a relaxing hobby?  Right now my favorite way to shop (without spending a dime) is to go on Pinterest.  You can find me there and follow my boards.  I would love to share ideas with you.
The class also reminded me about all the causes that Stampin'Up! has supported through the years.  This was my 7th convention, and just like every year, it rejuvenated me so that I am even more excited to share all the fun creative things Stampin'Up! has to offer with my friends and customers.   Here are a couple of cards using the stamp set Moving Forward.
Stampin'Up! has been supporting the Ronald McDonald House for years.  This year instead of $2, they are donating $3 from the sale of every "Moving Forward" stamp set sold this year!  Check out this fun stamp set on page 209 of the Stampin'Up! catalog.
My daughter is in Girl Scouts and every year they pick a cause to support.  The donate money from their cookies sales to this cause, and even buy supplies for the charity.  They always visit the charity after cookie season is over too.  Last year her troop donated to Children's Hospital and did charity work at the Ronald McDonald House.  The girls helped make dinner for the families and then served the meal.  They had a great time and it was wonderful to see them giving back so much.

Convention 2012 wonderful classes!

There were so many great things to see and do at the Stampin'Up! Convention 2012!

I was hoping to have tons of cute projects to share, but due to a camera error I don't have more than half of the photos I took. Sad really, but life goes on and I will work with what I do have.
So I  am going to challenge myself to finish ALL the make and takes, it's harder than it sounds because I am notorious for not finishing my make and takes, and finding them years later.  So new year, new goal!  Here is what I came home with, some of the make and takes are done, others are started.  Hopefully I can show you all finished projects soon!

I am really excited about some of the photos I actually did get!  And all the wonderful advise, ideas and inspiration I brought home with me.  The classes were great for me, I needed that boost.
I have already talked about some of the classes, but here is a run down of all the classes I took during Convention 2012:

I am a Pattern-Mixing Pro with Carrie Cudney.  This was an extra class you could sign up for, and so glad I did!  I learned fresh tips and techniques for using Designer Series Paper and creates an amazing project to take home.  See more here!

I am Reaching Out with Emily Montoya.  She offered fun ways to include the emerging younger women in your business.  I have younger friends, but did I learn?  I actually took away a lot of great information and saw how I can connect better with some of my nieces.  See more here!

I am Savvy with Donna Griffith, Meg Wheeler, Dawn Griffith and Laura Milligan.  I loved all the great ideas they shared in this class!  See more here!

I am Doing Business My Way with Bonnie Thurber, Tami White and Ronda Wade.  They gave us great ideas on ways to hold successful events.  I loved it!  I do offer some special card classes from time to time, but loved Ronda Wade's Private Class idea.  Look for that one in my business soon!  SEE MORE HERE!

I am Having Fun with Shannon West.  She offered great ideas to help you partner with your hostess to maximize the workshop, in fun ways.  The best part was this class really was fun!  We got to dance, laugh and have a great time!  Now that's a class.

I am Making Money with Pam Morgan.  She showed us how to get more out of the Career Plan by taking advantage of the bonuses.  I loved hearing from different demonstrators about goals they sent and things they do in their businesses to make their businesses grow.  Pam is a joy to listen to each year at convention, I always love her classes.  It was a great class and so inspiring!

I am Open for Business with Carrie Cudney.  Carrie had great tips to attract customers and ideas on how to find new ones.  I love listening to her every year at convention, she has so much energy and is just a wonderful speaker, full of great ideas.

Thank you Stampin'Up! for another wonderful Convention!  It was hard to say goodbye after all the fun times.  Friends, fun, stamping packed into a few days.  Who wants to come with me next year?

You are Invited...
to have fun, make friends and be inspired!  How you ask?
Stampin'Up! is offering a great special in August. Sign up with the Custom Starter Kit for $99 and get this great Halloween Printer's Tray project kit FREE!  You and I both get it when you sign up.  If you are local we can plan a stamping day to make them together, or if you live further away we can share photos of our fun projects.
Being a demonstrator has been a wonderful thing for me.  Six years ago I never thought I would be so happy, have so many friends and be so inspired by others.  The resources and creativity are amazing.  I want to share it with ALL of you!  Contact me to get started, here's the link to join online so we can get started today!

Convention 2012 I am Savvy class

Classes were so fun and helpful at the Stampin'Up! Convention 2012!  I loved the "I am Savvy" class because it dealt so much with the products and had some many fun and cute ideas.
Donna Griffith started off the class and talked about product coordination.  I love how so many things coordinate with the Stampin'Up! products, but I still need reminding at times, so this was great!
Then Dawn Griffith showed us some fun ideas using ribbon.  I love ribbon, but sometimes I am not sure what to do with it.  One of the ideas I liked was ribbon flowers, she used the new Jumbo Sticky Rounds (Holiday catalog page 31, #127852), tie a knot at the end of the ribbon, start in the center and twist it as you work your way out.  It makes beautiful flowers!  You could use strips of fabric for this idea too.  Plus she showed us the cutest spider for Halloween (from the Tricky Treats stamp set, page 28 main catalog). I hope I can figure out how to make it after watching her!  Sorry the photo is not better.  I took this one off the big screen while she did the demonstration.
Laura Milligan did a great job showing us some projects with the Stampin'Up! Fabrics.  She made these great scissor holders for our Paper Snips (page 180, #103579), both used the Dresden Designer Bigz L die, but one was sewn and one was not.  Since I am not much of a sewer, I think I will try that way first.  But I loved how she showed us two ways!
Then Laura showed us some fun bags and even cards to go with the bags.  I just love all the great patterns for the fabric!  She also showed us how to make some great cozies for your drinks.  Here is one of the bag and card samples, so cute!
Simply Sent kits are a great way to make and quick projects, Meg Wheeler showed some great ideas using different kits.  The new Noel Notes Simply Sent kits (Holiday catalog, page 17, #127884) are perfect for cards, or a photo card for your holiday cards. They even make great place cards for your holiday parties. Check out these fun samples from the class.
All the Convention 2012 classes were great, and thanks to Donna Griffith, Meg Wheeler, Dawn Griffith and Laura Milligan this was another wonderful class full of inspiration.  Hope you enjoy all these ideas!  I know I did!

Convention 2012 Pattern-Mixing Pro class

I signed up for an extra class at the Stampin'Up! Convention 2012, I am a Pattern-Mixing Pro, with Carrie Cudney.  LOVE that class!  We made a fantastic project using Designer Series Papers. Carrie Cudney gave us lots of wonderful tips and techniques for using Designer Series Paper.  She showed us some fun projects using different Designer Series Papers and talked about using the papers, not hoarding it.
I admit it, I tend to buy these beautiful papers, and then I don't want to cut into them.  So I find myself with stacks of great paper that I have not used.  So my new rule is USE the paper!  I can always buy more.
I was so excited to make this project.  I't is amazing!  We were given all these wonderful supplies, including a canvas and made a great project that I cannot wait to hang on the wall.  I am even thinking of offering something like this as a class.  So fun!

Supplies included 3 packs of Designer Series Paper, oh how I love the paper!  We got a great stamp set, Lacy and Lovely, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, some fun buttons and Linen Thread.  They provided acrylic paint to paint the canvas and the First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper, lots of punches and I got to try the NEW heat tool!  It is fabulous!  So quiet, I already came home and ordered it!

Stampin'Up! Convention 2012

Fun, Friends, Stamps, Projects, FREE Stuff, Prize Patrol and so much more!  My roommate Glenda and I had a GREAT time!  Just so you know, she made me sit on the chair (I'm a lot shorter than her, heehee).

We went to lots of classes together during Convention 2012.  But first there was check in day.  We used extra time to work on our Make and Takes, after a trip to Memento Mall for some shopping.

There is so much to share, but for starters I loved General Sessions!  Great project demonstrations and a great Keynote Speaker.  Jason Dorsey did a great job as Keynote Speaker!  I can't wait to read his books, even the names were great, like "My Reality Check Bounced."  He was funny and engaging.  Well see, here's a picture of him being silly on stage...
Wow,  I just love going to the Stampin'Up! Convention every year!  It is so fun to see new ideas, learn new techniques and spend time with friends and meet new ones!

3 x 3 swap cards

Here's the 3x3 card swap I did at the Stampin'Up! Convention, 2012.  These cards are so fun, I did this swap with Virginia Killmore last year too.  Make a whole bunch of the same sweet little 3 x 3 cards and swap with others.  The ideas you get back are amazing! They're great for gift tags, and are great ideas for bigger cards too.

I made 89 cards for this swap, next year I hope to make the whole 160!!!  Thanks Virginia for organizing this swap.
Supplies:  French Foliage and Friendly Phrases stamps, Whisper White and River Rock card stock, Crumb Cake, River Rock and Early Espresso Classic Inks.

Stampin'Up! Convention 2012

Just got back from the Stampin'Up! Convention 2012, in Salt Lake City!  So much fun!  I have tons to share with you over the next week or so.  Look for lots more fun posts on the events and projects.  For now I'll share a few pictures.
Here we are making our Make and Take Projects.  It's a lot of fun, but I finally accepted years ago that I cannot always finish there, I need to do what I can and finish at home.  But we had a great time!  You can see a close up of the card Kate is holding up later this week.  I have to finish it first!
Laughing about the stamps, Jean and Glenda were having a good time.  Did you see all the people around us?  That's a lot of stamping going on!
And this is what the table looks like when you done.  What a mess, but a fun mess!
It's a great time to see tons of new ideas, reconnect with friends and just have fun.  It's one of my favorite things about being a demonstrator.
Do you want to come with me next year?  There's a great new starter kit!  Contact me for more information, I would love to have you join!
Here's one of the convention bag, too cute.  These girls had cute felt flowers on theirs, and they posted for a photo.  You can make friends everywhere at convention.  We were waiting in line, so what do you do?  Start talking and take pictures of course.  Thanks girls for sharing your cute flowers.  I love them.
Did I mention the bags were filled with stamps and some make and take projects too?  I am amazed at all the fun goodies Stampin'Up! gives us at Convention.  Love it!
