I hope you all have a very happy new year!!  Here's a few cards from me and 2 of my Stampin'Up! Demonstrator friends using the stamp set Making Spirits Bright.  I thought they were perfect for the new year.  This stamp set is available in Clear or Wood, but only for a limited time.  The Stampin'Up! Holiday catalog ends January 5th.

 Jenny made this great card, look how it folds out.  I love it!!  

 The card is 4" x 12" with score marks at 4" and 8", and additional scores on the diagonal.

This card features Brushed Gold 8-1/2" x 11" card stock and the Lucky Stars Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

Lori used the All is Calm Specialty Designer Series Paper on her card.  It's perfect for any time of year.

I made this great treat bag at Tara's when we have had a holiday get together before Christmas.  We made 2 make-n-takes with new products from the Stampin'Up! Occasions Catalog.  Plus we had a fun gift exchange.  I am hoping to share photos of those projects later this week.

See this cute paper?  It's one of the sheets from the Birthday Bash Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) is one of the new products, 12 sheets of fun papers (2 each of 5 double-sided designs; 1 each of 2 single-sided embossed gold foil sheets, all 12" x 12").

Here's the bag. First use the Big Shot with the Mini Treat Bag die. The die makes 2 parts that can be put together easily with Sticky Strip. Just imagine all the fun you can have making great bags for every occasion. 

Then we made a belly band with a strip of the Birthday Bash DSP, this great new White Jute Ribbon and Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim.

Finally we stamped the balloon in Calypso Coral on the rectangle of card stock, and in Bermuda Bay on a paper scrap and cut it out.  Popped the balloon up with dimensionals and put it on the rectangle with some stars.

Holiday Cards from Friends

Hope you have all had a wonderful holiday season. I always love making and receiving holiday cards.  This year my cards are late!  It's been a busy few weeks for me, so this year my cards are New Years cards.  I wanted to share a few more holiday cards that I received, I just love getting handmade cards in the mail.  

Marianne made this beautiful card.  Love the colors and idea.

 Lynnette made this great card using punches.  What a fun idea.

Cami made this fun card for the holidays.  We have enough snow in Denver right now to make a snowman, but being on the beach sounds much better.

Holiday Cards from Melissa

I love making holiday cards, and receiving holiday cards.  My friend Melissa made some beautiful cards this year and here are 3 of them.  

The Snowflake Card Thinlits Dies and the  Big Shot are perfect for making pretty cards.  And I love the way she made this card.  She even used the cut out from the snowflake as a stencil on the envelope.  

These 2 cards used the Bright & Beautiful Stamp Set (available in clear or wood stamps) from the Stampin'Up! Holiday Catalog. They coordinate perfectly with the Stars Framelits Dies and Big Shot and make such pretty cards.  I love the gold emboss on these cards and the layers of stars.  Everything really pops!

Fun Elf Shoes Gift Bags

I saw this idea at my friends house and had to share. Elf Shoes on a bag, it's so cute!  She go the idea from Becky Roberts.

Want to make your own?  Here's how I made them for the bags, but you could also make cards, tags and more with this idea!  I used bags I got at a craft store.

Step 1 - Use your Big Shot and Top Note Die
Step 2 - cut it into the pieces shown
     Cut in half and use 1 half for the elf bottom
     Cut off a section of the other half (long strip that you will not need), and cut shorter end in half the other way (see photo)  
Step 3 - Use a Textured Embossing Folder on the top half
Step 4 - Punch the 2 bottom pieces with the Extra Large Oval Punch, (used to be called the Wide Oval Punch) punch out a small piece so it looks more like shoes (see the right image above).

 To shape the shoe tops you only need to punch a small part of your die cut.

 Here's another image to explain the cuts.

When you are done you have his bottom and 2 shoes.  Plus a strip of Trim The Tree Designer Series Paper (DSP) Stack (only $6.95 for 48 sheets, double-sided) for each leg and 2 circles for the tops of his shoes.  I used 1/2" strips for the legs and the 1/2" circle punch for the circles on top of the shoes.

I used Sticky Strip for the Cherry Cobbler pieces.  Fast Fuse for the DSP strips that make his legs. Dimensionals for the small Garden Green circles.  Dimensionals are only $3.95 for 300 dots! It's a great deal, I use them ALL the time!

 Tie it off with a ribbon at the top and a tag too.

I used Cherry Cobbler 1" Sheer Linen Ribbon, but there are LOTS of Pretty Stampin'Up! Ribbons you can use to finish off your projects.

Fun Treat Holder Ideas

Stampin'Up! has fun products to make quick and easy treats to give. These projects were quick to make and perfect for filling with goodies to give.

Petite Cafe Gift Bags (10 bags approx. 3-1/2" x 8", only $5.95) are ideal for dressing up treats with stamps, washi tape, die cuts and more.  These Kraft poly-lined bags are perfect for all kinds of holiday treats.
I used Under the Tree Specialty Designer Series Paper with the Star Framelits Dies, and added a strip of paper to make a banner.  Perfect for baked goods, chocolate or small presents.

Decorative Window Gift Boxes are so pretty on their own, I thought a pretty piece of ribbon was the perfect touch to finish the box. I filled this one with tags to give, but the window is just right for showing off your treats inside.  Imagine some yummy cookies in there!

 The Fry Box Bigz L Die makes a fun treat holder.  The Under the Tree Specialty Designer Series Paper is a nice sturdy paper to use with this die. I like to use Cellophane 4" x 6" Bags to hold my treats in this holder.
There are other sizes too (1" x 8", 6" x 8", Gusseted Cellophane Bags and there are even some fun Twisty Treats Kits on the Clearance Rack)
