Convention 2012 I am Savvy class

Classes were so fun and helpful at the Stampin'Up! Convention 2012!  I loved the "I am Savvy" class because it dealt so much with the products and had some many fun and cute ideas.
Donna Griffith started off the class and talked about product coordination.  I love how so many things coordinate with the Stampin'Up! products, but I still need reminding at times, so this was great!
Then Dawn Griffith showed us some fun ideas using ribbon.  I love ribbon, but sometimes I am not sure what to do with it.  One of the ideas I liked was ribbon flowers, she used the new Jumbo Sticky Rounds (Holiday catalog page 31, #127852), tie a knot at the end of the ribbon, start in the center and twist it as you work your way out.  It makes beautiful flowers!  You could use strips of fabric for this idea too.  Plus she showed us the cutest spider for Halloween (from the Tricky Treats stamp set, page 28 main catalog). I hope I can figure out how to make it after watching her!  Sorry the photo is not better.  I took this one off the big screen while she did the demonstration.
Laura Milligan did a great job showing us some projects with the Stampin'Up! Fabrics.  She made these great scissor holders for our Paper Snips (page 180, #103579), both used the Dresden Designer Bigz L die, but one was sewn and one was not.  Since I am not much of a sewer, I think I will try that way first.  But I loved how she showed us two ways!
Then Laura showed us some fun bags and even cards to go with the bags.  I just love all the great patterns for the fabric!  She also showed us how to make some great cozies for your drinks.  Here is one of the bag and card samples, so cute!
Simply Sent kits are a great way to make and quick projects, Meg Wheeler showed some great ideas using different kits.  The new Noel Notes Simply Sent kits (Holiday catalog, page 17, #127884) are perfect for cards, or a photo card for your holiday cards. They even make great place cards for your holiday parties. Check out these fun samples from the class.
All the Convention 2012 classes were great, and thanks to Donna Griffith, Meg Wheeler, Dawn Griffith and Laura Milligan this was another wonderful class full of inspiration.  Hope you enjoy all these ideas!  I know I did!

Create and Keep kit

Simply Sent card kits from Stampin'Up! are great to have on hand for quick cards when you need them.  Have you seen the great kit in the Occasions mini catalog?  The Create and Keep Simply Sent kit on page 42 of the mini catalog has everything you need to make 10 sweet cards.
Here's a photo of the kit, I already made the box, it was so easy to put together!  Just a little piece of sticky strip in two places and it is done.  Now I have great box to hold my cards and envelopes.  It comes with 2 sheets of stickers for decorating your cards and dividers for the box.  So I can use this box over and over.
You could use just this kit to make some fun cards, or add some embellishments for even more fun!  Just think what some jewels and ribbon would do to make them even prettier.  This kit coordinates with Pear Pizzazz, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso and Pool Party.  Contact me with any questions.

Available April 1 - 30!
Don't forget the Summer Smooches Suite is available this month!  I love all those colors and products, they are perfect for summer!

More fun Convention photos

Here are some more photos from Convention.  I loved all the fun displays, the more you look at the photos, the more you will find. I love being able to share all this through my blog with you.  Enjoy!

Here is one of our Art Journals all decorated up.  I just love the Simply Sent kits!  This one is my favorite.  The thing I love most about the Simply Sent kits they offer now is that the stamps are separate from the card kits, so you can keep ordering more cards if you need.  Love the little flowers on this one.  You get 8 cards and envelopes for $11.95.  Perfect for some quick and fun cards to send out, and you can add your own personal touch if you want.

Just think how much fun you could have with all these party decorations.  Those cupcakes are so cute!

Check out the tree!  I thought this would be fun on a front window.  I like it even better on a frame that I can put up on the wall anytime I want.

More fun ideas for the holidays, this picture is just filled with them.

Close up of the jars.  They look so pretty with the ribbons and tags.
Love the decor trees in the background.
Did you see the Candy Countdown Calendar Kit in the Holiday mini?  Here they are on the cabinet, it looked so festive.  More great trees on the windows too.  I think I am talking myself into getting some for the holidays?

Where am I finding all these fun cabinets full of goodies that look good enough to eat?  The Color Confections!
Enjoy and have a great day!
