I’m so excited about Bonus Days! This is the first time Stampin’ Up! has offered coupons to customers! All you need to do for your $5 coupon is spend $50 in July. Stampin’ Up! will email you a coupon for every $50 you spend, and you can use coupons on anything you want in August!

Jar of Love Swap Card

One of the card swaps I made was inspired by a beautiful sympathy card I received from my friend Marsha.  I just loved the color combination she used, Mint Macaron and Smokey Slate.  

My card swap uses the Jar Of Love Photopolymer Bundle (save 10% when you buy the bundle), and other products from the new Stampin'Up! catalog that started in June.  There are so many fun products, it's often hard from me to decide which ones I want more, because I want them all!  But the Jar of Love stamp set and coordinating framelits Everyday Jars were at the top of my list.

Sympathy Cards from Friends

I feel like I have been MIA from my blog for the last 2 weeks. Okay, really the last 2 months have been hard to get posts done.  I'm sorry there have not been as many posts as usual.  I know May is always a crazy month at our house, it's the end of school and then I get so excited about the pre order for the new Stampin'Up! catalog too. But this May was different.  I was bracing myself for another crazy May, but right as my pre order arrived, I got some terrible news, my brother past away suddenly.  So sadly, I didn't open that wonderful box of pre order products to play during the month and start sharing all those great new products in the new catalog.  Instead I spent some time in Tucson with family for a few days and managed over to time to get back into a routine.  Working and being with family has been helpful, and over the last 2 months I have reflected on life.  I'm happy to be stamping again, I think I needed that creative outlet.  I realize how important it is to reach out to friends and family.  Tell them you are thinking of them, send them a card or call.  Don't wait to tomorrow to get together, because sadly tomorrow may not come.  

On that sad and happy note, I wanted to share a few of the beautiful handmade cards I received over the last month.  I am truly blessed with wonderful friends and family reaching out to show they care.  I hope we can all pass along wishes to others.  I have decided I should be sending out more cards!  Lord knows I make plenty of cards, but don't always get around to sending them.  That's changing.  

Thank you to all my wonderful friends who sent handmade cards.  Here are a few of them.  I have them proudly hanging on the wall.  I can feel the love in the cards!  That's just one of the things I love about a handmade card.

CASED In Color Butterfly Card and a Fun Technique

I saw a beautiful card form Dawn Olchefske using some of the new Stampin'Up! In Color 2016-2018.  Well, I thought I just have to share this great card at my Open House, so I copied it!  Thanks Dawn for a wonderful card!  

When I was making card samples for the Open House I thought it would be fun to stamp off some of the color on my envelope and that is when I found this fun extra detail!  I stamped the Flirty Flamingo on the card, then stamped again on the envelope without re-inking, thinking I would just get a lighter color, but was happy to see the butterfly image showed up too!  So after that I was stamping the card, and then the envelope for all and showing my guests the same thing.  

First use your Big Shot and the Butterfly Thinlits Dies, then use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere to the card front.  Stamp Peekaboo Peach, then stamp again on the envelope without cleaning the stamp.

 Repeat this step with the Flirty Flamingo and Sweet Sugarplum.

This card used the new In Colors Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo and Sweet Sugarplum inks with Memento Black ink for the greeting.

Other supplies used were Whisper White card stock, Big Shot, Butterfly Thinlits Dies, Mini Glue Dot, Whisper White Medium Envelopes

After the Open House I wanted to make a few more cards and thought if the envelope looks this good, how about a 3rd time stamping without re-inking and putting the same image on the inside of the card.  I thought that worked well too.

Here's my first attempt at the card.  I liked how it turned out, but wanted to get the colors closer together, so move the stamp up (for me it was higher than I thought it should be to get the colors to touch). If your colors are not close enough together, you will not be able to stamp off on the envelope and get the fun pattern of the butterfly.
