Sympathy card from a friend

Last year my friend Tara Bazata sent me a beautiful sympathy card (she might have cased it from Pinterest?).  I didn't have the same Designer Series Paper or the wreath stamp. So I worked with what I had on hand.  

I loved it so much I recreated it using mostly current Stampin'Up! supplies, and we made these cards at a card class not too long ago.  

The saying in the middle of the wreath is from the Watercolor Wishes Card Kit (retiring).

The wreath die cut is from the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies, Blossom Bunch Punch (140612  Price: $18.00 $9.00) Linen Thread and Rhinestones.

Here's another version using different punches that are retired.  These were the flower punches that Tara used too. I just love a nice little flower punch.

Open Sea Birthday Card for Dad

Here's a card for my step-dad's birthday.  I saw a great card on Pinterest from Eldonna Epp.  Eldonna made her card using the Going Global stamp set from the Occasions catalog and I copied her card for my last card class in Vanilla, Early Espresso and Crumb Cake.  
My dad likes blue, so I made this card in blue for him.  He also likes the sea. This is not the most sea-like card, but I thought it was nice anyway.  
I love the Open Sea stamp set.  It's my go to set for guy cards or just general cards because it can be such a versatile set. Hope you enjoy!

Here's my dad's card in Island Indigo, Basic Black and Whisper White using the Open Sea stamp set (available in CLEAR or WOOD) and World Traveler Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  Both of these items are on the retiring list and will be gone by the end of May.  I will miss them!!

Calypso Coral Butterfly Swap Card

Here's my card swap that I brought to the Stampin'Up! OnStage convention a couple of weeks ago.  I thought I could get more posts done when I got home, but wow how time flies!  I'm finding if I don't get blog posts done and scheduled on the weekends I don't seem to get them done during the week.  But finally I have some photos to post!  Hope you enjoy!

I thought this was a fun card to share and swap with others at convention.  I was in the mood for something fun and bright, and I just love Calypso Coral. The Timeless Textures stamp set (available in CLEAR or WOOD) that I used for the background will be in the new catalog (2016-2017), but Fabulous Four stamp set (available in CLEAR or WOOD) is retiring and is only available for a limited time on the retiring stamp list.

Here's a close up of the tag.  I was so sad to see the Top Note die on the Stampin'Up! retiring list.  I love using this die!  Also on the retiring stamp list is the stamp set Blooming with Kindness Wood Stamp Set.  
I used some flower punches to make the 3D flower on the tag.  Wrap your box with some pretty ribbon and you have a great gift!
