Secret Garden Framed Cards, so pretty!

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms!  Here's some pretty cards from my last card class and to my mom… have a wonderful Mother's Day!

From the Retiring Stamps and Accessories Lists:  Secret Garden stamp set and Framelits, Delightful Dozens stamp set, and Happy Day stamp set.

To Make the Flowers:  Stamped Vellum with Whisper White Craft Ink, and heat embossed with White Embossing Powder.  Let it cool then use the Framelits to cut out the flowers.  Use a bone folder to curl the edges of the flowers, then use Sponge Daubers (I used Strawberry Slush, Crisp Cantaloupe and Costal Cabana).  Sponge the ink on the back side of the Vellum for a softer look, then let it dry for a while or heat set with the heat tool on the low setting.  Once the ink is dry use Glue Dots or a Dimensional to adhere to the card front.  

Here's what it looks like with no color added, though the flowers look darker in the photo than they really are.  
Other supplies used:  Very Vanilla card stock, Brown Sugar, Crumb Cake, Strawberry Slush, Crisp Cantaloupe  and Costal Cabana inks, Label Collections Framelits, Stampin' Sponges, Sponge Daubers, Glue Dots, Dimensionals.

Secret Garden Framed Art

Framed art is something I always love, but I have never tried it before.  This was my first try, I love how it turned out.

I saw the new Weekly Deals yesterday from Stampin'Up! (for April 8-14) and it reminded me of a project I made months ago and forgot share!  My upline Tara Bazata had a fantastic Holiday get together for us all.  Everyone brings a handmade item to the party for the exchange.  Here's my project for the gift exchange.  I love all the layers and found a frame with some room, not quite a shadow box, but it worked well.   Shop online anytime through my stampinup store HERE. 

Here is my project before I put it in the frame.  You can see the layers, and I used my bone folder to curl the ends so the flowers stand out more.

Here are some of the flowers from the project.  I stamped flowers, then used the framelit to cut them out.  I used Whisper White craft ink and Whisper White embossing powder on vellum, and the heat tool  to emboss the flowers.  The Secret Garden Framelits were perfect every time.  

Use a bone folder to curl the edges up giving the flowers more depth.  Crystal Effects, Dimensionals and Mini Glue Dots work well to put the flowers today.  The Pearls were a great way to finish the flowers.

Crisp Cantaloupe on Vellum Card

Stamp with Whisper White Craft Ink and use White Embossing Powder.  Then Heat Emboss on Vellum and use the Secret Garden Framelits with your Big Shot.  Use a Sponge Dauber to color the Vellum.  (I colored from the back side for a soft look)  Have fun with this one, it's a great technique!

Black and White Convention Swap

I am off to the Stampin'Up! Convention in Salt Lake City!  I love going every year for many reasons.  It's a wonderful time to get together with friends.  We stamp together, chat and see tons of new ideas, products and so much more.
