Even More Shoebox Swaps

Here are some more ideas I shared at my Stampin'Up! Open House at the beginning of October.  

The projects shown in this post are from the August Shoebox Swap at Tara's house.  We had a great time making each others projects, and I came home with new ideas.  

This great bag was Tara's project.  I love these Petite Cafe Gift Bags in the Stampin'Up! Holiday catalog.  Not sure if you can see it in the photo, but we spritzed the bags to make them sparkle. 
The Stampin' Spritzer is perfect for giving any project some extra sparkle.  Use 70% alcohol with a few drops of your favorite color and spritz away. It's only $2.95 for 2.  The bags have a texture too, the On Point Embossing Folder and a fun texture on these bags.  Have you seen the Festival of Trees Photopolymer Bundle in the Holiday catalog?  The stamp set and coordinating punch are great for holiday projects.

Janet made this fun card.  Love all the geometric shapes.  

This fun card was from Andrea, I loved the different textures from the Embossing Folders.  We used Stampin' Markers on the flower, then huffed on it (breathe on it before stamping).  We used the Pansy Punch to punch out the flower and place it on top.

Fun Flowers past projects

Shop online anytime through my stampinup store HERE.  Here are some past projects using the Fun Flowers die on the Retiring Accessories List.  This die is one of the great products that will be gone soon.  See all items on the Retiring Stamps and Accessories HERE!  

Simple cards can become spectacular with embossing folders and dies.  

Half sheet of card stock (5-1/2x8-1/2) to cut flower die, then I used my bone folder to curl the edges of the petals, glued together the layers, used Dimensionals to pop the middle up.  For these flowers I used a toothpick coming out of the cello bag (filled with chocolate).

These fun flowers were made a while back, the bag die is gone (so sad!) and the paper is retired too, but these flowers are so easy to make.  

 A fun bouquet of flowers as a gift. I used wooden stick/skewers for the stems.  There were chocolates in the pitcher too.

 A pretty birthday card, not the greatest to mail, but beautiful to get.  I used the Stampin' Spritzer with alcohol  ink refill and illuminate refill for shimmer on the card.

Rock n Roll Flower

Here's a birthday card I sent to my roomie from convention.  I love the colors on this one, and the Rock and Roll technique on the flower.  Sponging makes a nice antique look too.

I wanted some sparkle so I used some pearls and sprayed it with a shimmer.  Unfortunately the shimmer does not show so well in the photos.  
If you want to add a shimmer to any card, put in 5-7 drops of Illuminate refill ink and fill with 70% alcohol.  Shake well and spray your surface.  Want more shimmer, then add more of the refill, you can also add 1-2 drops of a color to give your shimmer a tint.  

Rock n Roll Technique:  stamp the lighter color first, then roll the edges of the stamp in the darker color.

For the background I used the En Francais stamp with Crumb Cake, first I stamped off the ink for a lighter image, then lightly stamped on the card stock.  Sponge all around the outside with Crumb Cake and then stamp images on top of this background.

Shimmering Poppies and Butterfly

Here are some more shimmering cards.  I got the idea from the Stampin'Up! Spring Catalog, but you can still get most of these supplies in the current catalog.  The Shimmer Paint is not longer available, but the Smooch Spritz still is and you can make a nice shimmer with that.

Mother's Day cards

Here's the other two cards from my last class: pretty cards for birthdays and Mother's Day. Use Stampin' Spritzer with Shimmer Paint (retiring) and alcohol to give the whole card a shine.  Mix 5-7 drops of paint and fill with 70% alcohol, shake and spritz.

For the flower I used the same mixture as above, but also added a few drops of Island Indigo ink refill.

Flower Trim Card

My last class featured pretty cards for birthdays and Mother's Day. Here's a close up one card and supplies we used.  We used all Stampin'Up! products, but some are retiring, so be sure to order your retiring Stampin'Up! products before they are gone!

I love the Color Spritzer tool!  It's great for a little splatter in any color you want, all you need is a marker. 

Another product I love is the Flower Trim in the Spring Catalog, page 5. Vintage dimensional flowers on strips of tulle.  I love how you can cut then apart to use on different projects.  And with the Stampin' Spritzer you can make them any color your want.  I used Summer Starfruit ink refill with alcohol in the spritzer to color the flowers. 

I got this idea from the Stampin' Success Magazine.  It's a great magazine that all Stampin'Up! Demonstrators get, and it's filled with great ideas to share.

Love - Day 8

Day 8 of 12 days of Love... 
Here's a couple of beautiful cards to tell someone you love them.  I gave the one card a little more bling with Pearls and misted Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint all over using the Stampin' Spritzer (you get 2 spritzers for $2.95, what a deal!).  It's perfect for giving any project some extra sparkle!

Gift Exchange Frame

Look at this beautiful frame!  My friend Gina made this for our groups holiday gift exchange over the weekend.   This is what I got to take home and I love it!  It was so creative and fun. 

I had the first number, and no, this was not the first present I got to unwrap, or the second, or the third.  There were so many wonderful gifts there!  I will try to post some more of the ideas this week.  I was so happy that when I unwrapped this one, and no one stole it from me. 

Here's a close up of the flowers.  I just love how she did this.  Gina stamped the En Francais stamp with StazOn ink on the frame (just make sure you have your words right side up!). She made these great flowers using a Scallop Circle Punch and distressed them (separate the fibers, peel the layers, crumple and fluff) and there's a brad in the middle of each one.  Then she sprayed the whole thing to give it sparkle!  

I love the Stampin' Spritzer, it's so great to be able to add a beautiful shimmer or color to any project.  Mix Alcohol (70%) with a few drops of Shimmer Paint and spray anything that you want to sparkle.

Here's the cute tag she made on the bag.  Loved it too!
I have been working too hard on some of my tags, this is so simple, yet so cute!

Core'dinations Snowflake card

I love the Snow Flurry die, page 14 in the Stampin'Up! Holiday catalog.  Here's a card I made for my October card class.  It's so fun I need to make more now.  It was easy too!

 After I put the pieces together for the snowflake I sprayed it, using a Stampin' Spritzer and the Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint.  I love this stuff, it makes everything shine and shimmer!

Googly Halloween card

Here's a fun card idea using the Googly Ghouls stamp set in the Stampin'Up! Holiday catalog.  I saw a fun card on Stampin' Connection a few weeks back (thank you Michele Reynolds), I loved it and had to use it for my starting point. 
I had a stamp malfunction with the "Boooo" stamp, and Melissa suggested using a strip of green.  She was right, looks great, and i added a few of those googlie eyes too.  I love all the fun Halloween products!

Make It Shimmer!

The photos do not show the shimmer very well, but these cards has a beautiful shimmer on the spider web. I used Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint with one of the new Stampin' Spritzers. It is so fun to use them and put some shimmer anywhere you want.  

My upline Tara did a great presentation at the Stampin'Up! Denver Regional a few weeks back.  She had a great tip for using the Stampin' Spritzer with the Shimmer Paint.  She said to use 70% alcohol so should not clog up.  Add about 5 drops of the Shimmer Paint to the Spritzer and then fill with alcohol, shake and have fun spraying a shimmer on anything you want.  It works great!
